Proposed Design for Shiwalik Biodiversity Park (SBP) at Muni ki Reti, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India. Sprawling across an Area of 43 acres, SBP is an initiative by Uttarakhand Forest Department to conserve biodiversity and promote awareness via nature education and eco tourism. The masterplanning is evolved from the concept of 7 Chakras and the architecture design merges with landscape like none other. Built forms are hardly visible, camouflaged by earth berms and nest like pergolas covered with herbal climbers. Proposed construction is vernacular in style with terracotta block walls and minimal use of glass. The park features variety of thematic gardens, space for events and festivals, nature interpretation centre and forest walks.
